Kara South: Area between 058E-072E, 72N-76N analyzed using RadarSat 268.0241, DMSP OLS 269.0129 and 270.0439. Remainder of area estimated using 27 Sep 1999 SSM/I, meteorology, climatology and ice drift.
 
Summary (Kara South): 50% RadarSat, 20% OLS, 30% estimated.

Kara North: Area between 068E-080E, 78N-81N analyzed from DMSP OLS 269.0129. Area between 080E-095E, 80N-82N analyzed from DMSP OLS 270.0618. Area between 090E-095E, 81N-76N analyzed using DMSP OLS 271.0753, 270.0117 and 270.0439. Remainder of area estimated using 27 Sep 1999 SSM/I, meteorology, climatology and ice drift.

Summary (Kara North): 40% OLS, 20% SSM/I, 40% estimated.

Barents Sea (0-70E): 

Barents North: Area between 76N and 81N and between 50E and 75E analyzed using TROMSO RADARSAT image w_RS1_19990924030910.075.SCW.WIDE2.2_19992670309.img. Canadian Archipelago (80W-95W): OLS imagery was used for the area 95W-105W and between 77N-83N.  Remainder of the area was estimated with climotology, current weather, and CIS radarsat analysis.

Greenland North: Area between76N and 80N from 0 to 10W from RADARSAT image 9909261711Z.  Area between 80N and 82N from 0 to 5E from RADARSAT image 9909261531Z.  Areas west of 20W estimated using current weather, theoreticals and continuity.

Summary: 90% RADARSAT, 10% estimated.
