ACFNS Drift KMZ Files
The National Ice Center produces daily shape files for the Arctic Cap Nowcast/Forecast system (ACNFS) ice drift. For our customers who use Google Earth, the daily ACNFS ice drift products are also made available in KMZ format. This product is derived from the the Naval Research Laboratory HYbrid Coordinate Ocean Model(HYCOM) data. KMZ files are available only for the Arctic region. The following three KMZ files are the latest nowcast data (acnfs_drift_latest), lastest 24-hour forecast data (acnfs_drift_latest_24hr), and latest 48-hour forecast data (acnfs_drift_latest_48hr).
